Overcoming Temptation
Temptation is something every believer faces, but Scripture reminds us that temptation itself is not sin—yielding to it is. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, God promises that no temptation is beyond what we can bear and that He will always provide a way out.
Temptation often comes through the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. These are the same channels the enemy has used from the Garden of Eden to the wilderness temptation of Jesus—and they are still active today.
But we do not overcome temptation by willpower alone. We overcome by renewing our minds, replacing lies with Scripture, relying on the Holy Spirit, and choosing to walk in obedience.
Spiritual maturity is not just knowing the truth; it is learning to live in victory through the truth. When we are tempted, we must recognize the lie, resist actively, flee when necessary, and restore quickly if we fall.
God is faithful. There is always a way out. Through Christ, we can overcome temptation and live by the Spirit, not the flesh.
